Blogging about cakes?! Hell no, this post is all about the hot new Vintage store featured in this season's i-D magazine. A true example of salvage and salvation, which ties in perfectly with the content of the store. You can't but be allured by the prospect of bakery ovens as changing rooms and old bagel moulds filled with trinkets and jewellery, right!? The new owners have even kept the original store fronting which really adds to the charm and individuality of the building.
The store, based in the ultra cool Williamsburg district of New York, is owned by Neal Mello who formerly worked as a buyer for Urban Outfitters and his gorgeous girlfriend Cyn Mullen who previously worked with jewellery designer Pamela Love (who RV love!!). Grand Street Bakery seems to be built on just about the coolest metaphorical foundations going and the future looks towards art shows in the basement and film screenings in the yard, with Mello stating "I want this space to be an environment for artists too." Urban bohemia eat your heart out.
Better start saving up to pay a visit eh!?
